She was predeceased by: her parents, Duane Gaunt and Elma Howerton Gaunt; her grandson Kenneth Hunter Sapp-Hamilton; her daughter Susan Mathews Mellon; and her siblings, Robert Gaunt, Russell Gaunt, Barbara Gaunt Vaughn and Loretta Gaunt Ritchie.
She is survived by: her children, Danny Dean Mathews (Angela) of Lawson, Gary Shane Mathews (Chryz) of Kearney, Missouri and Madonna Mathews Tyler (Stephen) of Kansas City, Missouri; Wanda Gaunt Love of Richmond, Missouri.. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life was held on Friday, December 5th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the United Christian-Presbyterian Church (305 E 4th St, Lawson, MO 64062).
