He was predeceased by: his parents, Cleveland Melson and Gladys Melson; and his siblings, William Melson (Bill), George Melson, Richard "Dick" Melson Catherine "Cate", Brown, Cleve "June" Melson, Leota Ruth Melson, Norman Melson, John Melson, Sylvia Needham, Arthur "Bud" Melson and Margaret "Marty" Melson.
He is survived by: his children, John Melson (Carolyn) of Fairdealing, Suzy Mitchell (Ronald) of Crowley, TX and Michael Melson (Debbie) of Fairdealing; his grandchildren, Aaron Melson (Sarah), Ryan Melson (Stephanie), BJ Bugger (Trinity), Chris Bugger (Audra), Jordyn Pitts (Trevor), De'Armond Mitchell (Sabrina) and Logan Melson (Katelyn); and his great grandchildren, Eli Melson, Evie Melson, Kaila Adler, Payten Smith, Noah Melson, Sylas Melson, Courtney Pritchard, Nicholas Pritchard, Maggie Melson and Jack Melson.
