He was predeceased by: his parents, Cleveland Melson and Gladys Melson; and his siblings, William Melson (Bill), George Melson, Richard "Dick" Melson Catherine "Cate", Brown, Cleve "June" Melson, Leota Ruth Melson, Norman Melson, Sylvia Needham, Arthur "Bud" Melson and Margaret "Marty" Melson.
He is survived by: his children, John Melson (Carolyn) of Fairdealing, Suzy Mitchell (Ronald) of Crowley, TX and Michael Melson (Debbie) of Fairdealing; his grandchildren, Aaron Melson (Sarah), Ryan Melson (Stephanie), BJ Bugger (Trinity), Chris Bugger (Audra), Jordyn Pitts (Trevor), De'Armond Mitchell (Sabrina) and Logan Melson (Katelyn); and his great grandchildren, Eli Melson, Evie Melson, Kaila Adler, Payten Smith, Noah Melson, Sylas Melson, Courtney Pritchard, Nicholas Pritchard, Maggie Melson and Jack Melson.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel (606 Walnut St, Doniphan, MO 63935). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at the Melson Memorial Gardens (Fairdealing, MO 63945).
