He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry R. Barnes and Hazel Barnes (Jerman); his siblings, Ruth Nell Heaton and Ronald Barnes; his siblings-in-law, Donald Heaton, Lee Smith, Marjorie Barnes, Norma Barnes and Wanda Smith-Bruner; his nephews, Randy Barnes, Alan Barnes and Darryl Heaton; and his great-niece Lacy Jo Smith-Hammons.
He is survived by: his spouse Jean Barnes (Smith); his children, Jon Barnes (Pam) of Perry, MO and Beth Ryan (John) of Springfield, MO.; his grandchildren, Cameron, Cole, Christian Ryan of Springfield, MO, Thomas and Samantha Barnes of Perry, MO.; and his siblings, Ramon Barnes, Danny Barnes (Anne), Dennis Barnes (Virginia) and Barbara Voss (Dan).
