He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Kitchen and Emma Kitchen (McGill); his wife Nina Bernice Kitchen (Crocker); his siblings, William Kitchen, Charles Kitchen, Clarence Kitchen and Alberta Francis; and his son-in-law Marvin Keenan.
He is survived by: his children, Elaine Keenan of Bismarck, MO, James Kitchen (Karen) of St. Louis, MO, Burlin Kitchen (Garner) of Bismarck, MO, Marilyn Laws (Bill) of Farmington, MO and Sandra Brewer (Jim) of Ironton, MO. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren, fourteen great great-grandchildren, and a host of other loving family members and friends.
