With sadness, we share the passing of Kenneth Townsend of Farmington, Missouri. Kenneth, born on January 4, 1943, passed away on September 19, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Tommy Lee and Geraldine Townsend (Green); his daughter Elizabeth; and his siblings, Timothy McDonald, Eugene Scott and Linda Green.
He is survived by: his wife Cheryl; his children, Tommy Townsend, Amy Baucum (Jason), Ken, Cheryl, Charles Waller, Martin Waller (Stephanie), BJ Casey (Chanda), Joseph Townsend (Brittaney), Mickaela Vance (Roger), Lacey Townsend, Katrina Townsend, Angel Townsend (John Edwards), Sarah Mealer (Dominick) and Robynn Steffen; and his grandchildren, Cara, Jenna, Grace, Landon, Charlie, Samuel, Joseph Jr., Arabella, Aahana, Saleen, Rhealynn, Rowan, Nolan, Gavin, Madison, Makenna, Deven, Alexis, Bryson, Brooks and Gabriel.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Ruegg Funeral Home-Piedmont (321 N Main St, Piedmont, MO 63957). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A committal service will be held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 at 3:15 PM at the Webb Cemetery.
While Ken's professional contributions to his community were vast, his truest and most profound life calling was opening his heart and home to children who needed support during their most vulnerable years.
