We announce the death of Kerry Schmidt of Farmington, Missouri, who passed away on August 28, 2026, at the age of 71. Kerry will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Schmidt and Celestia Schmidt (Baumgartner); and his siblings, Robert Schmidt, Wally Schmidt (late Darlene) and Darlene Schmidt.
He is survived by: his wife Sherll Schmidt (Russom); his grandchildren, Chyenee Crump (Keith), Lakota Mounce (JD), Alissa Ziegler, Samantha Ziegler, Dylan Ziegler, Zack Ziegler, Shelby Missey, Cameron Missey, Cole Anderson and Chloe Camden; his great grandchildren, Kacie, Kayden, Malcolm, Madden, Huxson, Weston, Sawyer, Isla and Foster; his siblings, Otto Schmidt (Linda) of St. Louis, Linda Allen (Floyd) of St. Louis and Gary Schmidt (Barb) of Iron Mountain; and his sister-in-law Sandy Schmidt of Pacific. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 3rd 2026 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Cozean Memorial Chapel (217 W Columbia St, Farmington, MO 63640). A funeral service was held on Thursday, September 3rd 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
