He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Townsend and Viola Townsend (Wehling). He is survived by: his wife Shelby Townsend (Salmon); his children, Douglas M. Townsend (Connie Finnegan) and Kay Reese (Lloyd); and his grandsons, Jackson Reese (Stephanie) and Samuel Reese.
Visitation was held on Saturday, May 31st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Calvary Lutheran Church (120 E Hickory St, Watseka, IL 60970). A memorial service was held on Saturday, May 31st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
