He was predeceased by : his parents, Charley Black and Fay Black (Moss); the mother of his children Loretta Black (Daugherty); his wife Helen Black (Moring); his grandson Brad Griffin; and his siblings, JoAnn Grisham (late Ed) and Gene Black (late Ruthie).

He is survived by : his daughters, Laurie Black of Farmington and Kay Griffin (John) of Farmington; his grandchildren, Chad Griffin (Sabrina), Katie Britt (Robbie) and Corenna Haney (Guy); his great grandchildren, Byron (Tina), Morgan, Marah, Asher, Ethan, Ellie, Bradi and Halle; his stepdaughter Carol Ann Welch (Mike Huffman) of Farmington; and his pet Sassy. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
