She was predeceased by: her parents, Paul William Glendone Rentfro and Ola Mae "Schrum" Rentfro Gilliam; her husband Robert "Dale" Smith; her children, Kerry Smith (Carla) and Karen Smith McCord; her great grandchildren, David Jr. and Dustin Goforth; and her brother Vernon Rentfro (Peggy).
She is survived by: her grandchildren, Stacy Smith Goforth (David), Kelly McCord Harper (Jarad), Christy McCord England (Aaron), Jeremy Smith, Kayce McCord Porterfield (Craig) and Annie Springer Pigg (Jerrod); and her son-in-law Greg McCord (Deanna).
Visitation was held on Friday, May 8th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Cornerstone Baptist Church (3659 Hwy O, Farmington, MO 63640). A funeral service was held on Friday, May 8th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, May 8th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Parkview Cemetery.
Memorials can be made in lieu of flowers to Cornerstone Baptist Church in Verna's memory.
