He is survived by: his wife Christy Nelson (Hutter); his siblings, Ralph Nelson Jr. (Linda), Teresa Hunt, Janie Bremer and Sherry Emmons; and his brother-in-law Dave Davis. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
