He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Sexton and Marie Louise Sexton; his sister Sheila Brand; his nephews, Timothy Brand and Tim McDonald; his in-laws, Peter and Gerry McDonald; and his brothers-in-law, Tommy McDonald, Tom Taylor and Don Olthoff.

He is survived by: his wife Nancy Sexton (Nee McDonald); his children, Sean Sexton (Rachel Ryan), Kevin Sexton (Laura), Connor Sexton and Kerry Sexton; his grandsons, Will and Sam Sexton; and his siblings, Dan Sexton (Barb), Maureen McCuddy (Dave), Martha Alghuwari (Emad), Elizabeth Stallings and Christopher Sexton (Dolores).

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Steve's honor to Backstoppers or the St. Vincent DePaul Society- Blessed Teresa Pantry.
