He was predeceased by: his parents, Wesley Smith and Rita Smith (Schallau); his wife Barbara Johnson; his siblings, John Smith (Karen) and Rose Rush (Pat); and his brother-in-law Harold Thompson.
He is survived by: his daughters, Candy, Kelly and Kathy; his great grandchildren, Brado, Dalton, Katy, Andrew and Jacob; and his siblings, Lennie Thompson of Buffalo Lake, Wesley Smith (Shirley) of Story Lake, Sue Smith of Remsen, Nancy Smith of Sioux Falls, Bill Smith (Joyce) of Storm Lake and Mary Kennedy (Jack) of Sioux Falls.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Snapp-Bearden Forsyth Chapel (16560 US-160, Forsyth, MO 65653).
