We are sad to announce that, on April 20, 2026, at the age of 99, Oby LaPlant (Fredericktown, Missouri) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Oby may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the echoes of his kindness, the warmth of his embrace, and the light of his enduring love.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel LaPlant and Annie LaPlant (Simmons); his wife Sandy LaPlant (Neels); his children, Richard, Mark, Kevin LaPlant and Susan LaPlant; and his grandson Andrew LaPlant.
He is survived by: his daughter Jenny (Greg Wurm). He is also survived by grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 5+ great-great-grandchildren; along with many other family and friends.
