He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Luther and Martha Katherine Ausfahl (Beckly); his sister Della Faye Berry; and his son-in-law John Mark Haden. He is survived by: his wife Joyce Lee Elley; his children, Chuck Ausfahl (Susan) and Shanna Haden; and his grandchildren, Madison Ausfahl, Mackenzie Ausfahl and Elley Haden. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
