He was predeceased by: his parents, Otis Sr. Byrd and Nellie Byrd (Henderson); his close friend Barbara Jean Patterson; his stepchildren, Jacquelyne "Jackie" Walker and Lee Patterson; and his siblings, Richard Byrd, Robert Byrd, Otis Byrd Jr., Carolyn Sue Fisher, Goldie Lawson and Ella Williams.
He is survived by: his siblings, Ann Gross (James), Kenneth Byrd (Anna), Jerry Byrd (Delsa) and Gary Byrd; his grandchildren, Jeff Patterson, Christopher Walker, Timothy Walker, Albert Gay Jr. and Tyshawn Logan; and his great grandchildren, Calvin Patterson, J'Len Patterson, Kameron Patterson, Dustin Patterson, Jaedyn Patterson, Jamarri Bruce, Jariah Patterson, D'Angelo Walker, Christian Walker, Jaida Walker, Xavier Walker, Keaton Walker, Jaxon Walker, Khiauna Gay, Alyssa Beal, Adarius Gay and Brayla Early. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
