He was predeceased by: his parents, John Frederick Whithaus and Doris Mae Hoelmer Whithaus; his grandmother Edna Bock Hoelmer; his siblings, Carol Whithaus Binkholder and Steven Whithaus; and his pets, Buzz, Tara and Cocoa.
He is survived by: his daughter Jennifer Whithaus (Chris Smith); his grandchildren, Maya Whithaus of Spirit Lake, Iowa, Sylas of Spirit Lake, Iowa and Mason Schmidt of Spirit Lake, Iowa; his granddaughter-in-law Myra Eickmeyer of California, Missouri; and his grandchild Raven.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Callaway Hills Animal Shelter or to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA).
