He was predeceased by: his father Forest P. "Buck" Miles; his sister Lois Jean Hagar; and his siblings-in-law, Carl Cox and Judy Buntin. He is survived by: his mother Maxine "Blondie" Miles of Gilman City, MO; his wife Sharon Sue Buntin; his children, Gary Miles of Gilman City, MO and Teresa "Teri" Fosdick (Charles) of Bethany, MO; his grandsons, Joshua Fosdick of Chillicothe, MO, Justin Fosdick (Brendon) of Kansas City, MO and Jason Fosdick (Kaylee) of Bethany, MO; his siblings, Charles Miles (Doris) of Bethany, MO and Nancy Louise Cox of Orem, UT; his mother-in-law Joyce Burdett of Bethany, MO; and his brothers-in-law, Robert Hagar and Victor Buntin (Carol). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
