Bessie Ann Henderson Obituary
Bess A. Henderson, beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed away April 20, 2018. Bess was born April 12, 1937 in Beresford, South Dakota to the late Desmond and Iona Westberg. Bess married Richard Henderson November 9, 1957. Bess was a teacher in South Dakota; Lincoln, Nebraska; Fort Collins, Colorado and Liberty, Missouri. she has a Masters in Counseling and Guidance, Certified Teacher of Behavior Disorders, Certified Psychometrics Examiner and post-graduate studies in Psychology. Bess was very active in her church over her life and was a member of Platte Woods UMC, Liberty UMC and Beresford UMC in South Dakota. She was a member of Adeline Chorus and Quartet, Ph Kappa Phi Honor Society, Liberty Public Schools committees and educational groups, former member of the Fortnightly Study Club and Red Hats Society.
Survivors include husband Richard Henderson, children Jerald L., Larry R. (Tammy), Robert D. (Lisa), and Seagayl. Grandchildren Andrea, Breanna, Elizabeth, Amanda, Kaylin, Robert and Jordan; great grandchildren Aiden, Cade, Bently and Danica. Brothers and sisters Dione Young, Karleen (Mick) Noteboom, Edward (Mary Ann) Westberg and Janelle (Michael) O'Conner.
Memorial Celebration 3:00pm, Wednesday, April 25, 2018 White Chapel Funeral Home, Gladstone, Missouri. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Inurnment White Chapel Memorial Gardens at a later date.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial gifts to Platte Wood United Methodist Church and/or Liberty United Methodist Church Music Programs.
