She was predeceased by : her parents, Aloysius Verhulst and Irma Verhulst; her husband Thomas Shatto; her son Jason Shatto; and her grandson Anthony Trower.

She is survived by : her son Thomas Shatto II (Lucinda) of Liberty, MO.; and her grandchildren, Hannah Shatto, Clifford Terry, Cindy Sims, Michael Fischer and Kassandra Wilkins (Shane).

In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations in Joan's name to St. Jude Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl, Memphis, TN 38105.
