He was predeceased by: his parents, John Reynolds Simpson I and Elizabeth Jane Simpson (Dishion); his son Gerald Clinton "Clint" Simpson; his nephew Mikel S. Simpson; and his sister Elizabeth "Ann" Kreutzer (Merlin).
He is survived by: his daughters, Jana Gilpin of New Franklin, MO, Leslie Hopkins of Bend, OR and Amanda Symes of Fayette, MO; his siblings, Robert A. Simpson (Mary Ann), Stuart L. Simpson (Nancy) and Sandra L. Smith (Gene); his grandchildren, Kara Chipley, Alexis Szoke, Alyssa Defoor, Zachary Massey and Wyatt Symes; and his great grandchildren, Zenobia and Addison.
