Christine Matney Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Christine Matney of Gower, Missouri, who passed away on March 18, 2026, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, James B. Matney of Gower, MO and Ingaborg Ottila "Jeanie" Matney (Immer) of Vienna, Austria.; her sisters, Barbara Shumaker and Monica Matney Kiesling; her husband Ben B. Houghton; her children, Margaret Lida Houghton, Stephanie Anne Hight and James Marshall Houghton of Gower, MO; her grandchildren, S. Airforce, Marshall, Nathan Hight of Oak Grove, Caroline, Rosalie, Jeanie and Elizabeth of Gower; and her nieces and nephews, Sarah Shumaker, Jody Shumaker of Massachusetts, Jacqui Ruoff of St. Louis and Kate Ruoff Nemeth.
