It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dorothy May Townsend of Grandin, Missouri, who passed away on January 12, 2026, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Howard and Fern Avis Meekins (Miler); her husband Louis S. Townsend; her son Louis Townsend, Jr.; and her sisters, Roberta, Beverly and Linda.
She is survived by: her children, Sandra Ferrell (Clifford) of Grandin, Susan Knapp of Grandin, Anna Nance of Doniphan, Judy Tillman of Doniphan and John Townsend (Tammy) of Grandin; and her siblings, Ruth of Salem, MO and James Meekins (Mary) of Doniphan. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
