He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude Coomer and Ida Coomer (Sage); his wife Barbara; his former wife Jean; and his siblings, George, Benjamin, Alice, Alex, Virgil and Willie.

He is survived by: his sons, John (Mary Ann) and Jim (Cindy); his grandchildren, Colin (Kaitlin), Katie (Mike), Alexis (Josh) and Morgan (Adam); and his great grandchildren, Beckett and Johnny.
