He was predeceased by: his parents, Cleo Mercer and Rubye Mercer (DeShazer); his wife Pat; and his son-in-law Michael Henggeler. He is survived by: his children, Richard Mercer of Blockton, David Mercer (Nancy) of Lee's Summit, Kent Mercer of Lebanon and Anita Henggeler of Ravenwood; his grandchildren, Kari Mercer, Kevin Mercer, Jessica Simpson, Jason Henggeler and Alyssa Mercer Evers; and his great grandchildren, Zavonna Mercer, Zachary Mercer, Cole Mercer, Joanna Simpson, Amelia Simpson and Natalie Simpson.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 27th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Prugh-Dunfee Funeral Home (200 S Front St, Grant City, MO 64456). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 28th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
