He was predeceased by: his parents, James Ralph and Hazel Mae Boyd (Greathouse); his son Michael Boyd; and his brothers, Ronnie and Richard Boyd.

He is survived by: his wife Debra Ann Severson; his daughter Michelle Ichikawa of Hawaii; and his brother Gary Bruno of Grandville, IL. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren; as well as six great-grandchildren.
