We announce the death of Robert Coen Mattox of Hale, Missouri, who passed away on September 7, 2026, at the age of 86. Robert will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Itilene Elizabeth Mattox (Couch) and Ralph C. Mattox; his wife Linda Mattox; his siblings, Harley Mattox (Carlene), Ted Mattox (Nancy) and Donna Thomas; and his sister-in-law Carol Fanjul.
He is survived by: his children, Ron Mattox (Bobbi) of Chillicothe, Dwayne Mattox of Laclede, Ryan Mattox (Jami) of Jefferson City, Missouri, Anita Ewing of Trenton and Lisa Bryson (Billy) of Hale, Missouri; his siblings, Dorrene Votaw of Middleburg, Florida and Gerald C. Mattox (Leah) of West Burlington, Iowa.; his grandchildren, Karissa (Willie), Kayla, Kelsey (Jackson), Kordell and Jewel (Tom); and his great grandchildren, Silas, Teagan, Tinsley, Greylie, Rayleigh, Nolan, Ariel and Thomas. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Lindley Funeral Home - Hale (309 Main St, Hale, MO 64643). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Baptist Church of Hale (406 Ash St, Hale, MO 64643).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hale Baptist Church and may me left or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home.
