With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Betty Scott of Hannibal, Missouri, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Betty left this world on July 25, 2025 at the age of 82, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, James Lieurance and Dorothy Lieurance (Brown); her brother Charles Lieurance; and her granddaughter Hannah Wathen. She is survived by: her husband Herman Scott of John's Lutheran Church; her children, Susan Wathen (Bob) of Hannibal, MO and Brian Scott (Toi) of Murfreesboro, TN; her siblings, Rex Lieurance (Nancy) of Tampa, FL, Kevin Lieurance (Marina) of Blue Springs, MO and Joyce Hitt of Blue Springs, MO.; her grandchildren, Christina Merrell, Stephanie Himmel (Brandon), Keegan Scott and Kellan Scott; and her great grandchildren, Oliver, Xander, Norah, Lizzie, Arie and Hudson. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, July 30th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Smith Funeral Home & Chapel (2619 St Marys Ave, Hannibal, MO 63401). A funeral service was held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. John's Lutheran Church (1201 Lyon St, Hannibal, MO 63401). A burial was held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 at the Grand View Burial Park (11116 US-61, Hannibal, MO 63401).
