With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Charles Monroe of Hannibal, Missouri, who passed away on June 4, 2025 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Catharine Monroe (Blakeslee) and Russell Catharine; his brother Jim Monroe; his daughters, Melody Kurfman and Carol Chancellor; his parents-in-law, Murl and Vadis Jones; and his daughter-in-law Lori Monroe.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Monroe (Jones) of Hannibal; his children, Jenny Haught (Shawn) of Hannibal, MO, Joni Hagan (Tim) of Hannibal, MO, Matt Monroe of Hannibal, MO, Tony Berry (Loretta) of Gillett, AR and David Berry of Columbia, MO; and his grandchildren, Skylar Godard (Jaxin), Katie Dittamore (Chris), Ashley Monroe, Daitre Mathes, Kobi Blair (Ryan), Laci Heller (Jared), Tori Davenport (Josh), Marsha Sullivan (Walt), Sam Hagan (Gabby), Eric Hagan (Chrissy), Jeremy Berry (Brandy), Luke Chancellor (Chandel), Jacob Chancellor (Heather) and David Manning Berry.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 10th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Calendar Grand View Funeral Home & Burial Park (11116 US-61, Hannibal, MO 63401). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 10th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Tuesday, June 10th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location.
Honorary Pallbearers are: John Higdon, Lewis Cornelius, Jaxin Godard, Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association at alz.org or the James E. Cary Cancer Center.
