It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Harold Wayne Johnston Sr. of Hannibal, Missouri, who passed away on October 21, 2025, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Leroy Johnston and Margaret Fern Mefford; his daughter Tammy Wilcox; and his siblings, Gary Johnston, Ronald Johnston, Butch Tapley, Margaret Nunn, Betty Sue Charlton and Geneva Nichelson.
He is survived by: his sister Carol E. Smith of Hannibal, MO; his children, Darrell Stovall of Quincy, IL, Harold W. Johnston, Jr. of Hannibal, MO, Chris Blackketter (Patsy) of Strong City, OK, Levi Blackketter of Strong City, OK, Carol Renee Nichelson (Bo) of Hannibal, MO and Sherry Ann Bieberich (Adam) of Clinton, OK; his grandchildren, Cody W. Johnston of Hannibal, MO, Gavin Stovall of Fort Bliss, TX, Kadin Bieberich (Madison) of Weatherford, OK, Ashley Whitley (Bobby) of Hannibal, MO, Kendall Jacobson (Billy) of Hannibal, MO, Kelsey Nichelson of Lake St, Cara Eaton (Doug) of Clinton, OK, Brandi Mitchell (Kevin) of Balko, OK, Cami York (Tracey) of Durham, OK, Mandy Norvell (Levi) of Bowling Green, MO, Breyanna Ellis (Justin) of Perry, MO, Matera Ellis of Perry, MO and Kirstyn Turnbow (Charles) of Kansas City, MO; and his half-brothers, Mike Johnston and Eric Johnston. He is also survived by 23 great grandchildren; two honorary sons.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 29th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the James O'Donnell Funeral Home, Inc. (302 S 5th St, Hannibal, MO 63401). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 30th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
