With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Herschel Ray Long of Hannibal, Missouri, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 22, 2026 at the age of 78. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Perry Long and Ruth Long (Shadwell). He is survived by: his wife Ann Cook; his children, John Long (Cheryl) of Jefferson City, MO and Jennifer Cosby (Mark) of Springfield, MO; his brother-in-law Lee Cook (Raetta) of LaGrange, MO; his nieces and nephews, Jacob Cook and Krystle Cook; his sister-in-law Rea Cook of San Miguel; and his nephew Patrick DeMate.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 26th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Smith Funeral Home & Chapel (2619 St Marys Ave, Hannibal, MO 63401). A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 27th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Grand View Burial Park (11116 US-61, Hannibal, MO 63401).
Memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, in care of the Smith Funeral Home & Chapel.
