He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar M. Lain and Mary Katherine Wyatt Lain; his wife Marilyn J. Majors; his son Marvin Eugene Lain; his siblings, Butch Lain, Billy Lain and Donna Nicholson; his granddaughter Carrie Watkins; his great grandchild Trevor Berry; and his stepdaughter Julie Myers.
He is survived by: his children, JoAnn Berry (David), Keith Lain (Jennifer), Renee Watkins (John A.) and Marquetia Watkins (Marvin); his siblings, Tom Lain (Phyllis), Jimmy Lain (Leann), Phillip Lain, Kenny Lain, Riley, Theresa Gollaher (Joe), Libby Powell (Jimbo), Monica Volner (Lou), Dale Rhodes (Darlene) and Patsy Yanczer (Mike); and his close friends, Ray Allen and Danny David. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great children; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
