He was predeceased by: his parents, John W. Rethorn and Constance Heilman Rethorn; and his sister Constance Sue Shelton. He is survived by: his children, Carol Ann Scholes (Mike) of New London, MO and James R. Rethorn (Ashli) of Hannibal, MO; his grandchildren, Erin Bangert (Craig), Kenneth Muehring, Bailie Rethorn (Samantha), Rainy Scholes, Jillian Scholes, Payton Carroll, Isabella Rethorn, PJ Scholes, Grayson Rethorn, William Rethorn and Liam Rethorn; his great grandchildren, Kourtlyn Muehring, Kamdyn Rethorn, Braxxtyn Jennings, Finnley Bangert and Maggie Bangert; and his close friends, Barry Dimmitt, Jerry Ruhl and Matt Matsunaga.
