We bid farewell to John Vaughn Rethorn of Hannibal, Missouri, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on June 9, 2025 at the age of 78. John Vaughn touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, John W. Rethorn and Constance Heilman Rethorn; and his sister Constance Sue Shelton. He is survived by: his children, Carol Ann Scholes (Mike) of New London, MO and James R. Rethorn (Ashli) of Hannibal, MO; his grandchildren, Erin Bangert (Craig), Kenneth Muehring, Bailie Rethorn (Samantha), Rainy Scholes, Jillian Scholes, Payton Carroll, Isabella Rethorn, PJ Scholes, Grayson Rethorn, William Rethorn and Liam Rethorn; his great grandchildren, Kourtlyn Muehring, Kamdyn Rethorn, Braxxtyn Jennings, Finnley Bangert and Maggie Bangert; and his close friends, Barry Dimmitt, Jerry Ruhl and Matt Matsunaga.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 28th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Park United Methodist Church (2335 Palmyra Rd, Hannibal, MO 63401). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 28th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
