He was predeceased by: his mother Elizabeth (Pleasant); his siblings, Morris, William, Nathaniel, Jr. and Earnestine; and his parents-in-law, Russell Bradshaw Sr. and Rodelia Bradshaw.
He is survived by: his wife Mamie Simpson; his daughters, Rev. Sherry Simpson of St. Louis, Norma Anderson of Hannibal and Theresa Carey (Artis) of Slidell, Louisiana; his adoptive daughter Melissa Hickman; and his siblings, James Simpson, Lexanne Lyons, June Tyler (James), Naomi Lanney (Jesse) and Sarah Johnson. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and spiritual children.
