He was predeceased by : his parents, John Surlet and Dora Surlet; his wife Frances Surlet; and his siblings, Herb, June Surlet, Ada King, Dorthy Surlet and Pete Hudson (Alfa).

He is survived by : his daughters, Connie Siebler and Carol Greening (Andy); his grandchildren, Megan Bell (Jeff), Andrew Lemons (Devan), Derek Greening (Shana) and Molly Bainter (Brooks); and his sister Mary Lou Lowes. He is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
