We announce the death of Albert Preston Payne Sr. (Harrisonville, Missouri), born in Myrtle, Missouri, who passed away on September 23, 2026, at the age of 93. Albert will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Payne and Minnie Payne (Scott); his wife Bernice McGhee; his children, Patrick Keith Payne, Albert P Payne Jr. and Debra Dean; and his brother Allen Payne.
He is survived by: his daughters, Shannon Everitt, Kathy Sheffer, Amanda Vail (Jeff), Melissa Bagby (Jim), Cindy McNay (Jon) and Joan Murphy (Brad); his children-in-law, Tom Dean and Pam Payne (Painter); his grandchildren, Ayreona, Luna Everitt, Keith Payne, Kaitlyn Le (Stephen), Annie Zeets (Matt), Cayla Tarwater (Brady), Scott McNay (Anna), Christy Meek (Cham), Abby Comstock (Luke), Justin Payne, Stephanie, Andrew Dean, Patrick and Robert Murphy; and his great grandchildren, Sawyer Le, Alex, Issac Tarwater, Arowyn, Teagan Meek, Connor, Delaney, Ruby, Stella McNay, Preston, Charlie, Knox, Gus Payne, Duncan, Cannon Comstock, Zac, Riley and Colton Murphy.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 29th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Dickey Funeral Home (2401 E Mechanic St, Harrisonville, MO 64701). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 29th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 30th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Cotton Creek Cemetery (8633 State Hwy KK, Couch, MO 65690).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Croix Hospice and send in care to Dickey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 432, Harrisonville, Missouri 64701.
