He was predeceased by: his parents, Lucian Ballard "Pete" and Pearl Geneva Bates (Judy). He is survived by: his wife Judith Gregg Bates; and his children, Kim (Gary D.) of Lee's Summit, MO and Gregg of Springfield, MO.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the Dickey Funeral Homes (2401 E Mechanic St, Harrisonville, MO 64701). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 2nd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
He was known for his smile & kindness: whether it was helping out on a bill, lending a hand, making an anonymous donation, or repairing someone's car— the generosity with his time & resources had almost no bounds.
