He was predeceased by : his parents, Robert Smith and Frances Smith (Tarkenton); his stepfather Robert Rohrbacker; and his brother Robert Q. Smith III. He is survived by : his wife Kathy Smith of Hawk Point; his children, Richard Smith (Jen) of Troy, James Kaufman (Natalie) of Hawk Pt, Amanda Fox (Brian) of Moscow Mills and Charles Kaufman (April) of Vandalia; and his siblings, Victor Smith of New Mexico, Elizabeth Ell (Gary) of Festus and Rebecca Keys (Leon) of Union. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Memorials may be made to the family to help defray funeral expenses.
