He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Smith and Deloris Smith (Bastean); his former wife Judy Smith; his daughter Kathi Ann Smith; and his siblings, Carla Smith, Jamer Smith and John Smith.

He is survived by: his children, Kristin Witt (Bobby) of Eldon, Michelle Moeller (Mike Vocks) of Frankenstein, Douglas Albert (Chrissy) of Eugene and Kurt Prenger (Chrissy) of Norfolk; his grandchildren, Hannah, Abel Witt, William, Haley Moeller, Alex and Zack Prenger; his great grandchild Koa Mashaney; and his siblings, Jerry Smith, Debbie Tuttle, Marshall Roark, Zip Smith, Leland Roark and Butch Reed.
