He was predeceased by : his parents, Edison G. Tainter and Mary Tainter (Piel); his son George W. Tainter; his siblings, Bob, Dick, Allan Tainter, Audrey Speros and Irene O'Gorman; and his sister-in-law Becky Devine.

He is survived by : his wife Carrie Bell; his children, Greg Tainter of Eureka, Jennifer Gross (Jerod) of Owensville and Hunt Tainter (Karri) of Owensville; his siblings-in-law, Rick Bell (Donna) of St. Louis, Dan Devine of Eureka, Sally Browne of St. Louis and Phoebe Harke (Dave) of St. Louis; and his grandchildren, Logan, Chase, Molli, Kooper Gross, Cole Davenport, Brooke and Reagan Tainter. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
