It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Payne of High Ridge, Missouri, who passed away on August 1, 2025, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though James has departed this earthly realm, his legacy endures — a legacy of love that will continue to illuminate the lives of family and friends in the darkest of hours. May his spirit soar on wings of eternal peace, forever cherished in the tender embrace of memory.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Payne and Edna Payne; his wife Charolette Payne; his son James D. Payne Jr.; and his sisters, Darlene Weatherby (Lester) and Diane Fields.
He is survived by: his son David R. Payne (Jackie); his granddaughter Gloria Payne; his great grandchildren, Eva Ortiz and Ellen Ortiz; and his brother Eddy Payne.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, an organization James proudly supported.
