He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel Wamsley and Eunice Wamsley (Quigley); his brother Dearle; and his son Gary. He is survived by: his sons, David (Christina) of White Cloud, KS, Daryl (Ruth) of Powhattan, KS and Daniel Thomas Hefty of Kansas City, MO; his daughter-in-law Tammy Wamsley of Wetmore, KS; his siblings, Doug (Carol) of Gardner, KS, Dennis of Falls City, NE, Donnie (Pat) of Nemaha, NE and Diann Stepongzi of Auburn, NE; and his sister-in-law Charlene Wamsley. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
