We are sad to announce that on December 9, 2023, at the age of 72, Michael Schmitz of Holts Summit, Missouri, born in Saint Louis, Missouri passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Peter Schmitz and Mary Ann Schmitz (Dunn); his brother-in-law Patrick Kennedy; and his parents-in-law, Charles and Mary Anne Kolb.

He is survived by : his wife Rose Anne of Holts Summit; his children, Tracy Cunningham (Mike Ruble) of Jefferson City, Dana Mills (Danny) of Jefferson City and Matthew Schmitz (Kacie) of Jefferson City; his grandchildren, Simone, Andrew, Noa, Ava, Lia, Mya, Audrey, Gavin, Damion and Jack; his siblings, Jeannie Kauffman (Gary) of Olathe, KS and Keith Schmitz of New Bloomfield; and his siblings-in-law, Becky Kennedy of Jefferson City and Bill Kolb (Loretta) of Littleton, CO.

Memorials may be directed to the Jefferson City Animal Shelter or the charity of choice.
