“It is with great sadness that learned my friend of nearly 70 years has died. Phil knew time was running out. Yet he still made the extraordinary effort to visit me in Sacramento. We met when we were kids in Zionsville. I lived about a block from Phil. In those days Zionsville was a small farm town. I could say it was nothing special, it was just like a hundred other Indiana farm towns. But it was special. I'm so glad Phil let us both tell our stories to each other. RIP old friend.”
