He was predeceased by: his wife Phyllis Staley; his parents, Red Staley and Addie Johnston Blakey Staley; his adoptive parents, Josephine Jones and Elba Jones; his siblings, Bill Blakey and Amy Blakey; and his cousin Charley Cartee.
He is survived by: his son James Dennis Staley of Houston; his cousins, Margaret Burch of Licking and Josie Hutsell of Virginia; and his sibling's children, Eddie Burch, Wayne Burch, Dana Hutsell and Leslea Lilley.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 5th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Evans Funeral Home (224 S Grand Ave, Houston, MO 65483). A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, November 5th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Pine Lawn Cemetery.
