With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Velma Dean Edington of Houston, Missouri, born in Neosho, Missouri, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 22, 2025 at the age of 90. Though Velma may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Velma touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Elmer Thurman and Bertha Thurman (Piercy); and her sons, Terry Ray and Kevin Michael. She is survived by: her husband Omer E. Edington Jr.; and her children, Eddie (LeAnn) of Houston, MO, Jeff (Carla) of Mountain Home, AR and Cheryl Ann Edington of Houston, MO. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Friday, September 26th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the First Free Will Baptist Church (1221 Thomasville Rd, Houston, MO 65483). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 26th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Friday, September 26th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Pine Lawn Cemetery.
