We announce the death of Billie Jean Pemberton in Independence, Missouri, born in Chatham, Louisiana, who passed away on August 3, 2026, at the age of 91. Billie will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her husbands, Richard B. Griggs, W. Pemberton and Jim Rice; her granddaughter Shannon C. Marquez; and her sisters, Charlotte Ann Dorathy and Linda Dianne Wahl.
She is survived by: her children, Donna Cheryl Jones, Richard "Ricky" Griggs (Kay) and Karen Marlene Moses (Mike); and her siblings, Nathan G. Roberts and Brenda Marlene Templin. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren.
