Dustin Connor Stone Obituary

Dustin Connor Stone, 17 of Independence, MO succumbed to his injuries while being surrounded by his family on Monday, January 30, 2023 at Research Medical Center Burn Unit. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, February 4, 2023 at the Epic Church, 3711 S. Whitney Ave., Independence, MO 64055. Burial will follow in New Salem Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 10am until service time Saturday at the church. Dustin was born March 3, 2005 in Independence, MO to Brian and Rhonda (Reynolds) Stone and has been a lifelong Independence resident graduating from Fort Osage High School in December of 2022. He enjoyed playing in the school band, he was an Eagle Scout and a member of the BSA's Heart of America Council's honor camping program MicOSay, and a Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do. Growing up he enjoyed model railroading with his father, playing soccer, and chess. As a teenager he enjoyed working, playing video games, and playing pool with his friends. Dustin was recently accepted to the Southeast Lineman Training Center in Georgia and was planning to attend in May. He is survived by; his parents, Brian and Rhonda Stone of the home; a sister, Katelynn Stone of the home; grandparents, Larry and Shirley Reynolds and Calvin and Deborah Beal all of Independence, MO; an aunt, Shelly Allen of Independence, MO; 2 uncles, Michael Beal of Independence, MO and Robert Stone of Denver, CO and 2 cousins, Samantha Harwood and Matthew Allen.
