She was predeceased by: her parents, Gilbert Burkhart and Beulah Burkhart (Barker); her husband Vernon Whiting; her son Richard Whiting, Sr. (Rick); and her grandson Richard Whiting, Jr..

She is survived by: her sons, Gerald "Gerry" Whiting (Jackie) of Gassville, AR, Kenneth "Kenny" Whiting of Blue Springs, MO and Denny Whiting of Independence, MO; her grandchildren, Christy Davenport (Donnie), Mindy Spano (Mike), Thomas Craig (Sarah), Kelly Clark, Jennifer Mitchem, Melissa Vickers, Jason Whiting (Lori) and Misty Whiting; and her daughter-in-law Cindy Whiting. She is also survived by 25 great grandchildren, 13 great great grandchildren.
