He was predeceased by: his parents, Addie Lewellen Thomas and Bivin Thomas; his wife Nedra Stark Thomas; his son Russell "Rusty" Dale Thomas; his grandson Jeffery Don Thomas; and his siblings, Mary Carlton, Wanda Carlton, Bill, Bob, Roger and Jim.
He is survived by: his sisters, Lois Hipp and Joyce Hipp of Prim; his sons, Doug Thomas of Independence and Mike Thomas (Darlene) of Tumbling Shoals; and his grandchildren, Jessie Thompson, Crystal Jinkins, Trisha Madden and Kayla Thomas. He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephew.
