We announce the death of John David Kilgore of Independence, Missouri, born in Kansas City, Missouri, who passed away on July 22, 2026, at the age of 77. John David will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Kilgore and Lela Kilgore; and his pets, Concha and Tiko. He is survived by: his siblings, Donald E. Kilgore (Mary), Gary Kilgore (Jan) and Sherry Harms (Gary); his nieces and nephews, Angela Cooper, Misty Wayne, Misty Dixon, Ryan Kilgore, Justin Kilgore, Adam Kilgore, Sam Wright and Kimberlynn Wilson; his aunts, Alice and Oleta; and his uncle Russell. He is also survived by his family, friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in John's honor.
